Richmond, Va. (Newsradiowrva.com) - A woman has been killed, and a man has life-threatening injuries, following Virginia's second buggy-related crash in last than a week. Eight children were also injured in the crash, which occurred along Route 45 in Cumberland County Sunday evening.
Police say a 60-year old man driving a Toyota Tundra struck the buggy from behind around 8pm Sunday. A 38-year old woman was killed, and another man was badly injured. Their eight children also suffered a variety of injured.
State Police say the buggy was well-lit and using appropriate markers. The driver of the Tundra initially drove away, according to Police, but then returned. Charges are pending.
Two people were also injured when their buggy was struck on Route 3 in Richmond County last week.
