Richmond, Va. (Newsradiowrva.com) - At around 4:30 a.m. on Friday, Jan. 12, fire crews were called to Carytown Burger and Fries, located at 3449 W. Cary St., to put out a raging fire spotted by a nearby resident.
Fire officials put out the fire quickly, and there were no reported injuries. However, the fire caused serious damage to the building.
The fire reportedly started outside of the building before spreading to the second floor, damaging the stairwell, and leaving a hole in the ceiling. There was no damage to the kitchen.
The general manager told our partners at 8News that he plans to rebuild the business, but he expects it to be a while before the restaurant reopens. For now, the business’s employees will need to find other work.
