Richmond, Va. (Newsradiowrva.com) - The Powerball Jackpot has now hit a world record $1.6 billion ahead of Saturday night's drawing. The number is larger than the $1.58 billion jackpot in 2016.
Virginia Lottery Spokesman John Haggerty could not say if they expect it to grow further between now and the drawing. He did say sales were going very well, both in Virginia and nationally. He says the amount is drawing players who do not usually play.
The last Powerball winner was in August.
