Prince George County, Va. (Newsradiowrva.com) - Prince George police are investigating after a person was killed in a car crash and ensuing vehicle fire.
Authorities say the crash happened on Monday, Jan. 15 at around 6:30 p.m. on the 14500 block of South Crater Road. Only one car was involved in the crash.
Police say a 2001 Honda four-door sedan had been driving on South Crater Road when it veered off the road and hit a tree. The vehicle then went up in flames.
The driver, who was the sole vehicle occupant, died at the scene. The driver’s identity has not yet been confirmed by the Medical Examiner’s Office.
Prince George police are working to determine the cause and circumstances of the crash. At this time, police believe speed was a factor.
