Richmond, Va. (Newsradiowrva.com) - While some parts of Virginia are beginning to open up their vaccine eligibility to Phase 1C, the Richmond-Henrico Health District says they do not expect to do so until mid-April. The Eastern Shore and Danville are reportedly the districts opening up already.

A RHHD spokeswoman says the district just recently expanded eligibility to all of Phase 1B. Spokeswoman Cat Long says the district does not like to have long waits in between eligibility and actual appointments, so they tend to move slower than other places with expansion. The Chesterfield Health District is currently only vaccinating parts of Phase 1B.

The RHHD is asking people over age 65, however, who want a vaccine, and haven't received one yet, to call their hotline at 205-3501. The line is open 8am-5pm on weekdays. It does not matter if you have pre-registered or not, but you must be a Richmond or Henrico resident. Long says they are trying to get as many seniors as possible vaccinated, and want to make sure no one who wants it is missed.
