Richmond, Va. (Newsradiowrva.com) - Both the Richmond and Henrico School Districts have begun their school year, the first pre-Labor Day start for both districts. Chesterfield has already been in school a week, while Hanover schools do not begin until next week.
Richmond Schools Superintendent Jason Kamras says the school year has gotten off to a good start, in part because they have no bus driver vacancies. That is not the case in Henrico, where Superintendent Amy Cashwell said Friday they were 75 bus drivers short. She says the district is optimizing routes.
Henrico does have 95% of its teaching positions filled.
