Richmond, Va. (Newsradiowrva.com) - The Richmond Police Department is hosting a free steering wheel lock event for drivers who own a Kia or Hyundai this Sunday – April 14, 2024, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
The event will take place at the Satellite Restaurant parking lot: 4000 Jefferson Davis Highway, Richmond, VA 23234
RPD says the event is part of its larger effort to decrease motor vehicle thefts within the city of Richmond. Drivers must show proof of residency in Richmond and proof of ownership of a Hyundai or Kia to receive a free steering wheel lock.
“This will be a fast and efficient way for Richmond City residents to receive a free steering wheel lock. Officers will be on-site giving away steering wheel locks to Richmond residents who own Hyundai and Kia vehicles,” RPD said. “While supplies last. Simply drive up to the parking area, present proof of residency and proof of ownership of a Hyundai or Kia, receive a free steering wheel lock, and drive away!”
