Richmond, Va. (Newsradiowrva.com) - On Feb. 14, thousands of rideshare and delivery drivers for companies like Uber and Grubhub will be striking for better pay and benefits.

The strike is happening across the U.S. and in the U.K. Here in Richmond, protestors will begin at Richmond International Airport at 12:30 p.m. and move into the city.

Those participating say they’re protesting low pay and unsafe working conditions, among other complaints. They’re also urging people to turn off rideshare and delivery apps for 24 hours in support of the strike.

"No Rideshares, No Deliveries, No Love For Gig Corporations on Valentine's Day means an opportunity to practice community care and solidarity,” the Richmond Drivers Alliance said in a Facebook post.
