Richmond, Va. (NewsradioWRVA.com) - People who will be driving in the Scott's Addition area of Richmond this coming Saturday need to be aware of some street closures and no parking zones for the delayed Shamrock the Block street festival scheduled for this Saturday from noon to 6.
Richmond Police spokesman James Mercante says that North Arthur Ashe Boulevard between West Broad and West Leigh/Moore Streets will be closed from 5 am to 9 pm on Saturday. Side streets around that area, including Clay and Marshall will be closed between North Arthur Ashe Boulevard and Altamont Avenue.
In addition, the eastbound lanes of West Leigh Street between Myers Street and DMV Drive will be no-parking zone for the same time period. Organizers of Shamrock the Block, on their website, say that there are several parking lots surrounding the festival area and there is limited street parking throughout Scott's Addition.
In addition, there is an Irish Festival going on this weekend on Church Hill, and there could be some road closures there as well but Mercante says they should be pretty easy to navigate around.
Shamrock the Block was originally scheduled for Saturday, March 12, but was postponed due to snow and high winds.
