Richmond, Va. (Newsradiowrva.com) - Virginia's Vaccine Coordinator, Dr. Danny Avula, says the nation, and Virginia, appear to be on the downslope with the Delta variant. However, Avula also says that still means case numbers are high, and that it is not time to let our guard down.
Avula's comments follow similar comments made by Governor Ralph Northam earlier in the week. Avula is continuing to stress vaccination as a way out of the pandemic. He says there has been a lot of talk about boosters recently, but he really wants to see the unvaccinated get vaccinated.
Avula spoke during Richmond Mayor Levar Stoney's weekly briefing.
