Washington, D.C. (Newsradiowrva.com) - Senator Mark Warner (D) says the fatal shooting of three UVA football players shows again that more needs to be done to address gun violence. Warner says gun violence occurs more here than in any other industrialized nation.

Warner says more is needed both dealing with gun safety, as well as mental health. However, he also stresses there is no silver bullet. Virginia tightened gun regulations during the two year period recently that Democrats controlled the General Assembly.

Warner made the comments during a conference call with Virginia reporters.
