Richmond, Va. (Newsradiowrva.com) - State Senate Democrats, on a party line vote, have rejected Governor Glenn Youngkin's (R) choice for Natural Resources Secretary. Andrew Wheeler previously was President Donald Trump's EPA Chief.
Wheeler's nomination was embattled basically since the moment it was announced. Democrats argued he would try to circumvent regulations rather than protect the environment. Republicans say the rejection was based solely on how Wheeler worked for previously.
Youngkin had vowed to fight for Wheeler's nomination, and previously suggested the opposition was partisan.
