Richmond, Va. (Newsradiowrva.com) - A line of severe storms has come through central Virginia Wednesday afternoon, knocking down trees and causing power outages. At 430pm, Dominion reported over 76,000 outages.

The storms also caused damage in the area, not limited to a roof being torn off an apartment into the city. Trees also fell into homes in Chesterfield and in Henrico.

The storms were triggered by high pressure system to our west. Thursday's weather is expected to be cooler and cloudy, after Wednesday heat and humidity.
