Charlottesville, Va. (Newsradiowrva.com) - UVA community members are under a shelter-in-place order while police look for a suspect who fled on foot after being pulled over during a traffic stop.

Shortly after 8 a.m., a Virginia State Police trooper attempted to make a traffic stop of a Chevrolet Impala on Fontaine Avenue for an expired inspection sticker.

State police say the driver took the Ivy Road exit and fled from the car while it was still in drive. The Impala struck a State Police vehicle and at least one other vehicle. No injuries were reported.

UVA has cancelled classes until further notice. Students, faculty, and staff are advised to shelter in place on school grounds.

The suspect, Nyheem Hill, is a black male, 6’1”, 170 lbs, wearing a grey hoodie. Police say Hill has a known criminal history and gang affiliation. He was last seen near Alderman Road, according to UVA police.

If you see Nyheem Hill, please dial 911 to report.
