Richmond, Va. (Newsradiowrva.com) - Following a snowy start to the week in many parts of the Richmond region, meteorologists say we're in for more chilly temperatures and another snow chance Friday.
The Southern Metro saw very little, if any, snow on Monday while portions of the Northern Metro saw 1 to 3 inches with higher totals North and West in areas like Ashland and Short Pump. At the airport, snow totaled half an inch.
Looking ahead to the rest of the week, meteorologists say the arctic chill will stick around.
The StormTracker8 team says showers will be with us for the rest of Tuesday morning and early afternoon, and high temperatures will climb into the upper 30s to near 40. We’ll see cloudy skies this evening, but those clouds will break apart later tonight as arctic air enters Central Virginia.
Wednesday will be mostly sunny with highs only in the lower 30s. Partly sunny skies will move in Thursday, and it will be seasonable with highs in the middle 40s.
The next weather system, albeit not a major one, will move in Friday bringing the risk of snow showers and mixed in rain showers.
8News meteorologist Matt DiNardo says Friday’s weather could be just enough of a nuisance to cause some problems on the roads. High temperatures will climb into the upper 30s.
