Richmond, Va. (Newsradiowrva.com) - The Virginia Parole Board has denied sniper Lee Boyd Malvo parole. Malvo's name was among those listed in the Board's August decisions. Malvo was eligible for parole because of a recent law change that dealt with the fact he was a child at the time of the offense.

The Board, in making its decision, said they believed release would diminish the seriousness of the crimes. They also felt he would be a risk to the community. There was a sniper shooting in Hanover, but this decision dealth with convictions from Fairfax and Spotsylvania.

The other sniper involved in the 2002 shooting, John Allen Muhammed, was executed in 2009.
