Richmond, Va. (Newsradiowrva.com) - NBC12 Meteorologist Sophia Armata says the Richmond area will see snow Saturday, but accumulation is unlikely. Armata says warm ground, and the angle of the sun, will inhibit snow from sticking.

The storm will begin around rain after midnight. Armata says there is a possibility of severe weather with this storm, particularly in areas south and east of Richmond. The severe threat area includes eastern Henrico. The shift to snow should occur around 9am, and move from west to east.

Armata says the temperatures Saturday night will be cold, which could lead to slick spots on the road Sunday morning.
