Henrico, Va. (Newsradiowrva.com) - Commuters and travelers using Amtrak out of Staples Mill will confront construction over the next month. Amtrak says renovations to Amtrak’s Richmond Staples Mill station waiting area and restrooms began today and will continue through September 30, 2023.
Most construction will occur at night, however, some work may be necessary during operating hours. There will be limited seating and restricted access to station amenities during construction. Passengers boarding and detraining Silver Meteor Train 98, which isscheduled to depart at 4:52 am daily, may not have access to the station waiting room. Access to restrooms will be limited, and portable restrooms will be available for use.
Staples Mill is the Richmond area's busiest station.
