Richmond, Va. (Newsradiowrva.com) - Following a water main break between Thalbro Road and Park Lane, the Northbound lanes of Staples Mill Road remain closed.
"There was a longitudinal (along the pipe) crack in the pipe which required the replacement of a 10’ section," said Bentley Chan, spokesperson for Henrico's Department of Public Utilities.
The southbound lanes of Staples Mill Road in the area have reopened, but the north/northwest-bound lanes are being repaved. Motorists are advised to seek alternate routes and obey all the traffic direction devices currently in place.
Crews will be working on repairs throughout the day. Repairs are expected to be complete either later today or early Saturday morning.
