Richmond, Va. (Newsradiowrva.com) - Virginia State Police are partnering with Virginia Schools for a campaign to promote safety among teen drivers.

The campaign, called the "Arrive Alive" initiative, will have a curriculum of activities and projects for schools and youth groups to complete. There will be a competitive element to the program, including prizes for winning students.

Statistically, May through August is the most dangerous time for teen drivers. Casey Taylor of Virginia State Police said that this is due to a combination of late spring festivities (like graduations and proms) and Summer time spent out late with friends. The campaign will remind students to buckle up, follow speed limits, and not overload a car with too many passengers.
