Richmond, Va. (Newsradiowrva.com) - State Police are asking people, if they can, to either travel before or after tonight's brush with winter weather. The request comes as the Governor has declared a State of Emergency, and days after people were gridlocked on I-95 for over 24 hours.

State Police Spokeswoman Corinne Geller points out that even outside the I-95 issue, there were several accidents that occurred in the snowstorm. State Police plan to have troopers out in force to handle any problems.

VDOT also says it is ready for winter weather, and is pre-treating several areas. Pre-treating was not possible in Monday's storm because it originally came in as rain. Some areas are also forecast to get rain with this storm as well.
