Henrico, Va. (Newsradiowrva.com) - Virginia State Police say they have no reason to believe recent shootings locally along Interstates are related. The latest shooting happened Wednesday evening on I-64 in Henrico.
State Police say a Chesterfield woman was driving on I-64 eastbound when she noticed she was being tailgated. She pulled off onto the Nine Mile Road exit, and let the car pass, and Police say when the car passed, she was shot multiple times. The woman has non-life-threatening injuries.
Spokeswoman Sergeant Jessica Shehan say in many interstate shootings, they find that the victim and the shooter knew each other, and that the shooting was targeted. Police have not yet announced any arrests in a separate interstate shooting in August along I-85 in Dinwiddie that killed a woman.
