Richmond, Va. (Newsradiowrva.com) - State Police on Thursday and Friday will be blanketing the entire length of I-64 from Hampton Roads to West Virginia, in what they are calling "Operation DISS-rupt." DISS stands for distracted driving, impaired driving, speeding and seat belt use.
State Police say the four categories are four major causes of fatal and serious injuries crashes. The goal is to reduce fatal crashes to zero during enforcement and reduce total crashes for the year by ten percent.
The effort will take place Thursday and Friday. Later efforts will focus on I-95, I-81, and I-66.
