Richmond, Va. (Newsradiowrva.com) - State Police are concerned about the potential for traffic deaths this weekend, tied to increase travel for the Labor Day Holiday. Deaths are up this year, and have been trending up over Labor Day as well.

State Police will have all available troopers on the road this weekend. They are also asking drivers to drive sober, slow down, and wear their seatbelts.

Spokeswoman Corinne Geller says some people started driving faster during the Covid shutdown, and haven't slowed back down.
