Richmond, Va. (Newsradiowrva.com) - Virginia State Police say a trooper suffered minor injuries after being struck by a car this morning along I-195 in Richmond. The trooper was in the vehicle at the time of the accident. The trooper was taken to the hospital, treated, and released.
State Police say the injured trooper had stopped to help another trooper with an accident along I-195 North when a car struck the state police vehicle. The emergency lights were on, and the crash happened in a curve. Charges are currently pending.
State police are using the accident to remind drivers that Virginia has a "move over" law. Drivers are supposed to move over a lane, or if they cannot, slow down, when they drive near emergency vehicles.
