Varina, Va. (Newsradiowrva.com) - Henrico Police have charged a teenage boy with three counts, after he was found with a gun at Rolfe Middle School in the East End. The unidentified student was charged with possession underage, possession on school grounds, and having a concealed weapon.
The arrest came just 24 hours after the county and Henrico Police put out a video, asking for help in keeping guns out of schools. During the video, County Manager John Vithoulkas revealed that two weeks ago, it was a fourth grader that brought a loaded gun to Longdale Elementary in Glen Allen.
There have been multiple guns recovered from Henrico schools this year, and Superitendent Amy Cashwell recommended last week that all schools eventually get weapons detectors.
