Henrico County, Va. (Newsradiowrva.com) - Several students were pepper sprayed and a school resource officer suffered "minor injuries" in a fight at Highland Springs High School this morning. What reportedly started as an altercation between a handful of students escalated quickly, and the school's resource officer deployed OC spray to deescalate the situation.

Henrico Police and Henrico Fire also responded to the fight. A number of students were treated for the pepper spray's effects, two of whom had to be transported by Henrico Fire for additional treatment. The extent of the students' reactions to the spray and the level of treatment they required remains unclear, as does the total number of students involved in the brawl.

Henrico Police are asking anyone with information, photos, or videos of the fight to contact them at police@henrico.us. Additional law enforcement will remain present at Highland Springs HS for the remainder of the day.
