Richmond, Va. (Newsradiowrva.com) - Governor Youngkin's office says about nine hundred million dollars in tax rebates will go out to eligible Virginia taxpayers over the next three weeks.
Taxpayers can check their eligibility for the one-time rebate by visiting Virginia's rebate website. Rebates will be distributed on a rolling basis. The Commonwealth expects most tax rebates to be issued by November 7.
To qualify for the rebate, taxpayers must file by November 1 and have had a 2022 tax liability. Those eligible will receive up to $200 if they filed individually and up to $400 if they filed jointly.
Those who received a state tax refund by direct deposit this year will likely receive their one-time tax rebate by direct deposit in the same bank account. All others who are eligible will get theirs by paper check in the mail.
