Teen Arrested After BB Gun Shooting

Midlothian, Va. (Newsradiowrva.com) - Chesterfield Police say they have arrested a teen boy, and charged him with malicious wounding, after a bb gun shooting of another teen at the Hancock Village Shopping Center. The other teen was struck in his leg and eye, and reportedly needed surgery.

The 17-year old was charged with aggravated malicious wounding. He is currently being held at the county dentention home. The shooting happened on April 15th.

Police say they have not seen an increase in bb gun or airsoft shootings. However, they are aware of social media challenges involving these types of guns. Police warn participating is dangerous, as they can cause serious injury, as well as be mistaken for real guns.
