Henrico, Va. (Newsradiowrva.com) - Dylan Williams, the teenage boy who pled guilty in January to killing Lucia Bremer, has been sentenced to 60 years in prison. Bremer was killed in March 2021 as she walked with another young girl near Mills Godwin High School.

Williams, 16, was treated as an adult in the court system. Many of the court proceedings in this case have dealt with the best way to handle Williams, who was 14 at the time of the shooting. Henrico Commonwealth's Attorney Shannon Taylor successfully convinced Circuit Court to treat Williams as an adult in late 2021, in part because she felt it was best to handle his mental health issues. Williams, according to testimony, suffers from unspecified mental health issues, and in his young life, experienced his father being murdered and his mother died in front of him.

Williams pled guilty to Bremer's murder, as well as the attempted murder of the other girl she was with. He also pled guilty to a firearm charge.
