UPDATE: Just after 3 PM, Henrico Police announced that the juvenile who was shot had succumbed to his injuries. They are now investigating this incident as a homicide.

ORIGINAL: Henrico County, Va. (Newsradiowrva.com) -- Shortly after midnight Wednesday morning, Henrico Police responded to reports of a shooting on the 4900 block of Wood Thrush Circle.

Upon arrival, they found a juvenile with "obvious signs of trauma." He was transported to the hospital, where he remains in critical condition. Another juvenile male was arrested soon after. That suspect now faces a petition of underage possession of a firearm, with more charges potentially forthcoming.

On May 25, three juvenile males were found non-fatally shot on the same block of Wood Thrush Circle. Henrico Police say they are investigating this shooting separately from the incident on May 25, and that while they have no information right now suggesting the two are connected, the investigation remains ongoing.

Police are asking that anyone who was in the area early Wednesday morning -- or anyone else who may have information regarding either of these incidents -- contact them immediately.
