Henrico, Va. (NewsradioWRVA.com) - Henrico Fire crews responded to a house fire that broke out around 10:30 this morning at a house on Staples Mill Road just east of Glenside that injured three people.
Henrico Police Lieutenant Matt Pecka says an adult was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries and two juveniles refused care, but drove themselves to the hospital for evaluation. The cause of the fire is still not known.
Police were on scene to help with traffic control. As firefighters were trying to get the fire under control, Staples Mill was closed east of Glenside. Eventually, one lane was permitted to be open. Pecka says afternoon commuters who use eastbound Staples Mill may find slower traffic due to lane closures.
There were also some pets that had to be rescued from the house. It's not clear what their conditions are or how many were rescued.
