Augusta County, Va. (Newsradiowrva.com) - Three children were kidnapped while waiting for a bus in Fishersville on Thursday morning.
Officials with the Augusta County Sheriff’s Office said the kidnapping took place near the Bobby’s Way Apartment Complex at 8:27 a.m. on Thursday, Dec. 5.
The caller informed the sheriff’s office that their three children were waiting for the bus when a black four-door vehicle pulled up to the bus stop and took the kids.
The three children, who are siblings, are: 10-year-old Jai’Marcus Lewis, black male, 8-year-old Ja’Miyah Lewis, black female and 6-year-old Ja’Liyah Lewis, black female. The girls were both wearing pink jackets, and the boy was wearing a black and dark blue jacket with neon zippers.
A reverse 911 call has been sent out by the sheriff’s office within a five-mile radius of the apartment complex alerting residents to the kidnapping.
UPDATE: Virginia State Police issued an update shortly after 6 p.m., saying that the AMBER Alert had been canceled after the siblings were found safe.
