Richmond, Va. (Newsradiowrva.com) - The Virginia State Senate Tuesday rejected a bill that could have had Virginia permanently on Daylight Savings Time. Virginia would have still needed the Federal Government's permission to make the change.
Senator Richard Stuart (R-King George) offered the bill, saying he was tired of changing clocks and wanted the sunlight in the evening. But opponents said it would have been a disaster if there were different times in Washington, D.C., or North Carolina or Maryland.
The measure was defeated 18 to 21.
