Richmond, Va. (Newsradiowrva.com) -- The Virginia Department of Elections says as of 11am, turnout in Virginia stands at 19%. In 2017, the last election for Governor, just a little under 50% of registered voters voted. The 19% includes voters who voted today, as well as early and absentee voters.

Commissioner Christopher Piper says there have only been a few minor issues at the polls. One polling place in Henrico opened a few minutes late because of a medical issue, and there also have been some reports of Henrico scanners jamming and needing to be fixed. In Chesterfield, there has been a power outage at the Spring Run Elementary precinct; however, the voting scanners run on battery power.

Piper reminds voters all numbers are UNOFFICIAL until the vote is certified on November 15th.
