Richmond, Va. (Newsradiowrva.com) - Virginia Capitol Police say they detained two people at today's ceremony at the Virginia War Memorial, over an argument about a vulgar display pointed at President Joe Biden. The display actually used a vulgarity towards the President, not the commonly used phrase that has taken on the same meaning.
Capitol Police say they detained Ronald Hedlund, 60, of Glen Allen, after he parked his puck up truck in a banned area of Second Street near the War Memorial. The truck contained the sign, which was visible to the ceremony audience. Police also say Hedlund questioned their jurisdiction (the memorial is state property and falls under Capitol Police). Police did not move him to avoid greater distraction, and that's when a second man, Carl Grunow, 58, of Chesterfield, then tried to cover the sign with his jacket.
Hedlund was ticketed for parking in a no-parking zone, and Grunow was cited for disorderly conduct. There was no physical contact between the two men, according to Police.
