Richmond, Va. (Newsradiowrva.com) - State Police are investigating two incidents involving two box trucks on I-95 overnight and this morning that occurred within two miles of each other. In fact, State Police say there was a delay in getting out information on the first incident, because they had to move down the road to the second.
The first incident occurred around 1:30 this morning, when State Police say someone driving a UHaul purposefully ended up driving northbound in the southbound lanes of I-95 near exit 75. Police say the driver sided-swipped several cars before eventually striking a Chevy Avalanche towing a small trailer. The UHaul then overturned, and the driver was ejected. Police then say he got up, yelled that he "is the chosen one" and climbs into the northbound lanes. He was then struck by a tractor trailer and killed. Police are still working on identification.
Police then say around 7:45 this morning near the 74 mile marker, a Ford Fusion was struck by gunfire Police say possibly came from a white Penske Electric Vehicle box truck. You can see what it looks like in the below tweet. The driver of the Ford was not struck.
