Mechanicsville, Va. (Newsradiowrva.com) - Two juveniles have been charged with simple assault tied to an investigation into hazing in the Mechanicsville High School Football program. The charges wrap up an investigation that lead to the team's suspension.
Hanover Lieutenant James Cooper says the alleged incidents happened during summer practices. Cooper also says the Sheriff's Department was not responsible for the decision to suspend the season. The school district says the season can now resume.
Mechanicsville has lost two games to the suspension. Their next game is September 9th against Douglas Freeman High School.
