UPS Facility Catches Fire in Chesterfield County

Chesterfield County, Va. (Newsradiowrva.com) - Early Tuesday morning, a large fire spread through a UPS Customer Center on Coach Road in Chesterfield County.

Officials say a call about the fire came in at 2:34 a.m. on Tuesday, June 4. Three tractor-trailers that were in the process of loading and unloading parcels at the time had caught on fire, and the flames quickly spread to the building.

Crews responded to the 9600 block of Coach Road minutes later, and the fire was marked under control at 3:56 a.m.

Chesterfield Fire officials said there were packages and mail inside the trailers that caught fire.

No injuries were reported as a result of the fire. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
