Richmond, Va. (Newsradiowrva.com) - Over 1,300 homes, businesses and campus buildings were without power on and near Virginia Commonwealth University’s (VCU) Monroe Park campus Monday morning, causing many classes to be cancelled.
All classes through 10 a.m. were called off and employees were asked to work remotely during that time. The outage was reportedly caused by a substation issue.
According to Dominion Energy, about 1,323 homes, businesses and campus buildings were without power at 7:40 a.m. on Monday, March 25.
Power was later restored and classes resumed at 10 a.m., according to the university.
