Charlottesville, Va. (Newsradiowrva.com) - The Virginia Department of Health (VDH) has confirmed the state’s third measles case of the year.
VDH says a child under the age of 4 developed symptoms after exposure to another Virginia measles case. The health department says potential exposure sites include Sugar Bear Ice Cream on High Street in Charlottesville on May 31 and Lowe’s Home Improvement on Woodbrook Drive in Charlottesville on June 1.
Public health officials are coordinating efforts to identify anyone who might have been exposed.
The first measles case in 2025 was reported in April, and the second case was reported in May.
