Richmond, Va. (NewsradioWRVA.com) - Virginia ABC says during the Fiscal Year that ended this past June, the agency had a gross revenue of $1.4 billion, which is $60 million over the previous fiscal year .Agency CEO Travis Hill says that translates to $622.8 million that was contributed to the Commonwealth. That is an increase of $6.4 million over Fiscal Year 2021.
Hill says that part of the reason for the increase in revenue was the increased revenue from the licensee business as restaurants came back strong during that time period. He says that during the pandemic, they did turn more of their attention to e-commerce by providing delivery and curbside pickup. While the popularity of that has waned a bit recently, Hill says they'll continue to offer those options.
In the middle of the pandemic, the agency moved their headquarters and distribution center from Hermitage Road in the city to Hanover County. One of the challenges they had this past fiscal year was the supply chain issues. While they're not back at 100 percent, Hill says they're in a better situation than they were earlier this year
