Washington, D.C. (Newsradiowrva.com) - Virginia got its chance Thursday to make its case for the FBI Headquarters. The Virginia delegation met with the FBI and the General Services Administration to argue that a new FBI headquarters would be best suited in Springfield.
Senator Tim Kaine (D) says he will not criticize the Maryland sites being offered. However, he says Springfield is most compatible with the FBI mission, as it is close to Quantico, as well as sister agencies like the CIA in Langley.
Senator Mark Warner (D) made similar arguments, and adds it is close to colleges like Marymount University. Warner says Marymount is predominately Hispanic and female, categories where the FBI needs to be looking for new agents.
