Richmond, Va. (Newsradiowrva.com) - Virginia's Vaccine Coordinator Dr. Danny Avula believes the greatest uptick in vaccinations from the full approval of Pfizer's Covid vaccine will not come from people changing their mind, but rather, from more companies feeling comfortable to impose vaccine mandates. Pfizer's is the first vaccine to achieve full approval, and Avula believes Moderna's is likely a few weeks away.
Avula says he believes there will be just a small voluntary uptick in vaccination right now. Avula says he thinks there may be an additional 1,000 to 2,000 vaccinations a day as a result.
Avula also points out full approval is only for those aged 16 and older. It is still emergency use approval for those younger.
