Richmond, Va. (Newsradiowrva.com) - Virginia politicians are reacting to the draft opinion leaked to Politico which suggests the Supreme Court is set to overturn Roe v. Wade, the case that legalized abortion. Not surprisingly, Democrats are unhappy with the potential decision.

Senator Jennifer McClellan (D-Richmond) says Virginia has been a leader in protecting abortion access, and will not go back. Senate President Pro Tem Louise Lucas (D-Portsmouth) says protecting the right to chose is her number on priority. On Twitter, Senate Majority Leader Dick Saslaw says the potential decision is reprehensible.

Governor Glenn Youngkin (R) focused his statement on the leak, saying it was done to spread chaos. He did not say what he's going to do in response, although he stresses he is pro-life. Youngkin did favor tightening Virginia abortion laws during the campaign, and was caught on tape saying they could go on offense once he won, and the House of Delegates flipped control.
