Blacksburg, Va. (Newsradiowrva.com) - Following a game where social media videos circulated, showing stampede-like conditions at Lane Stadium, Virginia Tech has announced new gameday rules for students. The announcement was made in a statement from Virginia Tech's Athletics Director, Police Chief, and VP of Student Affairs.
Under the new rules, student attendance will be limited to season ticket holders, and a more limited number of student lottery winners. Anyone entering illegally will be referred to Student Conduct, and face possible consequences. There will also be Virginia Tech Police inside the stadium to promote safety.
Virginia Tech plays Pitt at home this weekend.
