Caroline County, Va. (Newsradiowrva.com) - Virginia State Police are investigating a fatal hit-and-run in Caroline County.
At around 6:30 a.m. on Tuesday, police responded to a call about a dead man in the roadway on Route 1, about a half mile south of Route 207 in Caroline County. Evidence suggests he was struck by a vehicle in the overnight hours. State police are in the process of confirming the man's identity and notifying next of kin. At this time, there are no suspect vehicles.

"Even the smallest tip can sometimes lead to breaking a case like this," says Jessica Shehan, VSP. "We hope that maybe somebody saw something last night and they can help us out."
