UPDATE: Police say Wanted Man Dies of Self-Inflicted Gunshot Wound

Richmond, Va. (Newsradiowrva.com) - UPDATE: Henrico, Richmond, and Fairfax Police are providing a lot more information about the incidents that lead to Dana Roman's death in Richmond. Henrico Police say this began Saturday evening, when they say Roman abducted and assaulted someone, and then drove up to Reston. Fairfax Police then say in Reston, Roman shot the abducted person, and a second person, and then carjacked a third person. Police then say they drove back to Henrico.

In Henrico, Police say they caught up and pursued Roman twice. The first pursuit ended without capture, but the second pursuit ended with a crash Monday morning in Richmond with a Henrico Police vehicle. Police then say Roman ran, and shot himself around 35th and Marshall Streets.


ORIGINAL: A suspect wanted for various violent crimes in different parts of Virginia has been found dead. Henrico police say the suspect, 45-year-old Dana Roman, died by self-inflicted gunshot wound.

Roman had warrants for his arrest in multiple parts of Virginia. In Fairfax County, Roman was wanted for aggravated malicious wounding, abduction, carjacking, and two counts of using a firearm in the commission of a felony. In Henrico County, he was wanted for malicious wounding and robbery.

Police located Roman and followed him into the City of Richmond on Monday. The pursuit ended when he was found dead near Chimborazo Park. An investigation into the matter is ongoing.
