Richmond, Va. (Newsradiowrva.com) - Juneteenth – a day that commemorates the emancipation of the last remaining enslaved African Americans in the Confederacy – is Wednesday, June 19. To mark the day, some buildings and offices may be closed.
Here’s a list of closures residents can expect in the greater Richmond area.
Government offices
• City of Richmond offices will be closed.
• Henrico County offices will be closed.
• Chesterfield County offices will be closed.
• Hanover County offices will be closed.
Libraries
• All Richmond public libraries will be closed.
• All Henrico County public libraries will be closed.
• All Chesterfield County public libraries will be closed.
• Hanover County libraries will be open.
Banks
All banks will be closed.
Post Offices
The United States Postal Service will be closed.
