Richmond, Va. (Newsradiowrva.com) - The Richmond School District says work has finally begun on rebuilding Fox Elementary, nearly three months after the school caught fire in February. The district says current work is focusing on site stabilization, with generators coming on site.
Debris removal is expected to start soon. The Richmond Fire Department and the district's insurer are also expected to be on site to complete their investigations into the fire. Out of respect for residents in the fan, work will not occur before 7am or after 11pm.
Fox students are expected to move to their more permanent temporary home at Clark Springs Elementary next week. Since the fire, they have been learning online and at First Baptist Church. Clark Springs will be Fox Elementary until Fox is rebuilt.
